2010

While I lowe blogging about my travels, I have not blogged about the trip immediately after my holiday. Sometimes I have gone for an another trip before I blogged about the first one. In a bid to track my travels on a yearly basis, I am creating these pages. This gives me at a glance, the trips I went to in a specific year and also the tourist spots I have visited. Anyway, I would like to do more with these pages but for now it is going to only have the trip information in the order of the events.

2010 was also a year of travels but with no planned holiday schedules. We had to plan our vacations as well as the dates. We are largely impulsive and so naturally, some of the holidays did not pan out as we wished but we nevertheless had a fantastic time.

Our first vacation was in January to Ooty aka Udhagamandalam. When the Arien announced we were going to Ooty, I was very angry. I was tired of visiting Ooty. We had been there last year as well. This time, however, the Arien planned it differently and so we had a great time though I protested a lot, initially.

Our next vacation was to Pondicherry. We thought August was a good time to visit Pondicherry. Beeg mistake. It was quite warm – almost as if it were summer. I refused to step out of our cozy room/cottage and ventured out only in the morning or evening. Inspite of these precautions, I ended up badly tanned. Conisdering that my Skip-level manager was visiting India for the first time, and was coming to ofc the day after my trip, I really looked my very worst 😦 Anyway, it was a good trip – one we should repeat sometime in November, considering the weather conditions.

The next trip planned was the Golden Triangle Trip. This was our first trip without our car and we both were on a planning frenzy. I was quite concerned about the spending involved. The Arien is known for being quite practical and he ensured tht the trip stayed within budget. Of course, that did not mean we did not have a nice time. One of the best pluses was the Metro which made travel cheap and easy. Having a cousin in Noida also helped us a lot.

2010 ended with a trip to Kodaikanal. This was a sudden trip, as usual. I had had an accident with my bike around Diwali (nothing serious) and this was the Arien’s way of cheering me up. I must accept that the trip cheered me up and when I got back to work, I was feeling as good as I looked.

Apart from these trips, we also went to Mysore as a treat for my MIL for her birthday. She enjoyed herself a lot. We visited places we had not visited before and this made the trip different 😛 Have not blogged ’bout it.
